Local Veterans Group Receives Contribution
Visalia, Calif. – A combat veteran who is determined to make a difference in his community by helping fellow veterans has received some contributions from a local business.
With tears in his eyes, combat veteran and director of A Combat Veteran’s Hope Norbie Lara received a $25,000 contribution for his non-profit group. The contribution will be paid out over the course of five years.
For Norbie, he says he knows what it is like to struggle to return to civilian life, after experiencing combat firsthand.
“I was severely injured in 2004 by a Rocket Propelled Grenade, which caused me to have extensive injuries and I was in a coma for two months,” said Lara.
For combat veterans like Lara and organization board leader Bill Goodreaw, it was a tough transition to return to the real world.
